Feel like in Asia / Czuć się jak w Azji #9 - Parnik (WAW)
After I went to Para bar in Poznań, I heard that the main steamed dumpling place is in Warsaw. So I met a friend here for a early lunch.
The owner is a Chinese and he has three shops in Warsaw, and they have more choices.
We first ordered a side dish made from seaweed...
And then each of us ordered a portion of steamed dumplings...
And they also have this one! Actually the name is called "crystal dumpling" in Chinese. Maybe I'll write how to make it in my blog because it's very easy actually.
All the dumplings/pierogi are freshly made in the place...
I was talking to the ladies there, the Vietnamese lady speaks Polish and is in charge of the cashier, and two Chinese ladies were making fresh dumplings, and they are from north-east of China, that means they are specialist of dumplings...and not only!
Kind of excited for me to go to a place where I can eat Asian food and communicate in the same language. The dumplings are good, go and try!

Duszony boczek "Dong-Po" rou
500g boczku
sznurek ( do obwiązywania mięsa)
15g imbiru
10g szczypioru
2 gwiazdki anyżu
( Można dodać chili )
100ml sosu sojowego
2 łyżki keczupu
1 łyżeczka pieprzu białego
150ml coli
2 łyżki wódki / 50ml wina ryżowego
600ml wody
Etapy:
1. Pokrój boczek w duże sześciany, a potem pogotuj przez chwilę w gorącej wodzie (chuan tang).
2. Następnie wrzuć boczek do zimnej wody.
3. Obwiąż kawałki sznurkiem.
4. Na patelni podsmaż na oleju imbir, szczypior, i anyż.
5. Dodaj resztę składników, na samym końcu wszystko zalewając wodą.
6. Wrzuć wszystko do garnka i duś przez 1,5~2,5 godziny. Można też dodać warzywa, np. marchewkę, ale należy liczyć czas żeby nie gotować zbyt długo.
7. Podawaj z ryżem, sosem oraz dodatkami.
* Przy następnym posiłku możesz wykorzystać pozostały sos (nazywany Luzhi) do przygotowania np. kurczaka z warzywami. Smacznego!
Feel like in Asia / Czuć się jak w Azji #7 - Thanh ha
This is probably my first time in Vietnamese bar in Poznań. A friend invited me for a dinner so I took my camera. Thanh ha is quite big than I thought, and is also one of the oldest Vietnamese bar in Poznań? Just wondering, if there are so many Vietnamese in Poland, where are they???
Mixed with Chinese decorations...
The bar is quite clean and in the evening still were some customers...
Menu
Some Vietnamese tea. ( actually they produce also a lot of tea...)
First time so I ordered one of the most traditional dishes - Pho (beef noodle soup)
Sliced beef...
My friend orderd stir-fried bean noodle with beef...
Closer look, was too spicy for me because I don't really eat spicy food...( worse than Polish people even )
Thanh ha is hidden in Jeżyce area on street szamarzewskiego, if you want to try some Vietnamese food come and try!

Feel like in Asia / Czuć się jak w Azji #6 - Yattai (POZ)
A short story as usual...
When I started to write this project, I told myself: no, no, I'm probably not gonna write sushi, because there are too many of them in Poland and the quality...
But I forgot that some people are indeed passionate about sushi and started their own business, just because they want to serve the best sushi as they can in this country, let's say - Marcin is the case.
I met him few years ago, in a polish house that I used to stay. "He brings the most fresh salmon in town", said by my host. So we started to talk about food and cooking, and then I also visited the sushi bar that he used to work in. A while later, I heard that he started his own new place somewhere out of the centre, in Skórzewo. So here we are! :)
The bar is situated in galeria Mallwowa, not super big but enough space to sit.
Menu, actually Marcin decided to make something special so we didn'nt even look at it.
Here's our skillful sushi master :)
Within only few seconds he already prepared the first sushi roll...
It was a combination of shrimp tempura, salmon...etc.
Inside this nigiri he put real WASABI.
Fusion style mango with eel...
More and more surprises...guess what is it?
Swedish way of marinated salmon, and the last is...trout?
Marcin said that Polish people are not really used to fresh raw fish taste so he has to make a lot of different combinations. Surprisingly, I was really satisfied because everything was fresh and delicious. For sure I'll come back again and ask for more surprises!
Yatai - "mobile food stall", was the traditional and original way how food business looked like in Japan in the past, and is also the spirit that Marcin wants to share with you - The original and traditional sushi bar!
